It’s actually quite funny - for case in point regarding the vitriol the author described in his essay, check out some of the comments 😂 ad hominem attacks and ignoring the points in the essay entirely. How convenient it is for people that everyone they hate or disagree with is automatically associated with “Nazis”… because newspapers that agree with them said so. How convenient not to have to argue the real point. To see what I’m getting at, consider: if a literal Nazi said “slavery is wrong”, should we start suspecting slavery is right? Guilt by “association” is a stupid argument against an idea.
Anyway, thank you for sticking your neck out and talking about your perspective. Imagine a world where your opposition would face you with the same kindness and consideration you have expressed. Unfortunately, they didn’t decades ago and probably won’t now. Still, there are readers you don’t see who will see this and make their own judgments. So thank you for sharing your voice.
